Comp/Benefits Manager Position at Samsung ? Dallas Texas

Reports to the Sr. Manager of Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits & HRIS) and manages projects associated with STA?s Benefits Programs and Compensation Plans as well as the HR Information Systems & Administration processes. Research, plan, develop, and drive implementation of new and revised benefit and compensation programs, policies, and procedures in order to be responsive to the company?s goals and desired competitive practices. Ensure consistent, competitive, and compliant administration of company benefits and compensation programs in conformance with policies, government regulations, and industry competitors through selection and participation in recognized survey sources, industry groups, HR associations, audits, reports, and personal contacts/networking. Provide input to strategic planning, tactical development, and provider services management of employee benefits, compensation and HR Information Systems and administration. Develop HR benefits and compensation policies that are aligned to business requirements, government regulations, and industry practices. Establish and communicate appropriate processes and procedures to execute all benefit, compensation and HRIS/Admin programs. Participate in high impact, cross-functional projects by providing expertise, strategic input and approaches for critical business initiatives and development of processes and programs. Duties & Resp.

Manages projects in the areas of benefits, compensation, HRIS and related administrative programs, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Evaluates, audits, designs, and recommends plan and policy revisions in addition to new plans and policies which are cost effective and consistent with industry competitive trends and corporate objectives.
Facilitates the participation, evaluation, and assessment of benefits, compensation, and administrative policy surveys to ensure best practices and that strategic, tactical corporate objectives and efficient administrative practices are developed and maintained.
Coordinates policy and program development and implementations, and provides strategic, tactical and administrative guidance to corporate management, STA employees and HR partners.
Provides advice and interpretation to corporate management and HR partners regarding HR benefits and compensation related policies and guidelines, job definitions/evaluations, design of creative solutions to address specific HR total rewards needs and HRIS related administrative practices.
Manages the administration of the annual open enrollment process for corporate staff, including the system readiness/testing, processing, recording, and reporting of benefit related actions taken on STA employees.
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data analysis and summary reports.
Trains and provides guidance to HR staff in the use and administration of benefits & compensation programs as well as HRIS tools and processes.
Stays updated on federal, state, and local HR and employment laws, rules, and regulations in order to assist in ensuring company compliance.
Conducts and manages meetings and training with managers, supervisor and STA employees to communicate HR benefits, compensation, and HRIS related policies and plans.
Works with team members to ensure appropriate and most current benefit and compensation program information is maintained and accessible via STA Today website.
Prepares reports, analyzes and interprets data and provides technical information for the effective communication of benefit programs.
Provide benefits and compensation consultation and recommendations to leaders and HR partners related to internal and external concerns.
Conducts the required non-discrimination testing, 401k audits, 401k true-up analysis and follows through with appropriate actions based on results.

Background /
Experience

A Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, or related field, MBA preferred.
Must have minimum of 10+ years of experience in the area of Benefit, Compensation, HRIS and general HR policies and practices.
Advanced knowledge in benefits administration, benchmarking and survey processes, including comprehensive benefits review and market assessment and compensation job matching, competitive assessment, salary range/structure methods/creation, salary increase budgets (merit, promotion, adjustment), geographic differential analysis, policy & practices analysis as well as writing job descriptions, job evaluations and leveling/grading process.
Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to HR areas, particularly in benefit programs, compensation pay practices, employment law and establishing company policies and administrative practices.
Advanced computer skills with Microsoft business applications software, compensation software packages, and HRIS systems. Advanced Excel skills including the use of macros, graphs, charts, tables, and complex data calculation and analysis spreadsheets. Knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus.
Ability to identify technical issues, formulate technical solutions and processes and partner with appropriate parties to implement.
Proactive, highly integrated involvement in managing competing priorities and identifies solutions before being asked or required due to events.
Strong mathematical aptitude and analysis skills for researching, analyzing, and developing compensation and benefits related programs and recommendations.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing proactively with all levels of internal and external personnel including, employees, senior leadership, fellow team members and vendor or agency personnel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The ability to interact with personnel at all levels within the STA/R&D organizations, Samsung North America Headquarters and Subsidiaries, Samsung HQ, vendors, and governmental agencies. Must have the ability to influence others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including stakeholder leadership, senior management, staff, and vendors with opposing views to support and approve plans or project recommendations.
The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous benefits, compensation, and HRIS projects.
The ability to read, write, interpret, and action proper understanding of technical HR materials, contracts, or related documents based on corporate legal and customer applications and Human Resources professional standards and philosophy.
The ability to create professional presentations and communicate effectively in writing, through emails, reports and orally on compensation and benefits programs as well as complex technical matters to various targeted audiences, including employee level to senior leadership and highly technical individuals.
The ability to lead and direct projects and related activities of other employees in order to achieve objectives, project schedules, and team goals and to complete assignments within established time frames and specifications. In addition, have the ability to develop tasks and work assignments, clearly define objectives, and give technical direction with applied knowledge of alternatives and decision-making experience to guide fellow team members.

Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal less than 75% of work time, including prolonged periods of time either writing or responding to emails or documents/proposals.
Moves and transports equipment such as laptop PC?s, usually less than 25 pounds.
Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress.
Uses machines, tools, equipment, and work aids that are representative to and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas.
Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
Works under little supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are periodically monitored and consequences of decisions may adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Position has almost complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company?s competitive position.
Budgetary and/or expense authority is under $10,000.
