Residents of O'meally in North East St Catherine are urging the parish council to act swiftly to remove a body from a casket in a vault that was dislodged from a grave last Sunday.
They told the Gleaner Power 106 News Centre that two other vaults were also in danger of being dislodged.
According to the residents, the heavy and persistent rains which lashed the island last Sunday have worsened a massive landslide, resulting in the dislocation of the vault from a family plot.
The residents say they have prepared new burial spots, but are waiting on the local authorities to exhume the bodies.
They say representatives from both the parish council and the St Catherine Health Department have visited the community and, while the matter is being addressed, it should be done with more alacrity.
